Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2020 Bonhams in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included this untitled work by Mark Francis. Here, the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 12,112.50 (€ 10,137.68). Admittedly, works by Mark Francis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Symbiosis (Mesh) in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 32,450.00 (€ 41,228.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2020 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Mark Francis zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 12.112,50 (€ 10.137,68) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mark Francis auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Symbiosis (Mesh) im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 32.450,00 (€ 41.228,09).
