Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Lovers by Mark Boyle was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,692.62). Admittedly, works by Mark Boyle have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sandstone Study with Bricks and working Glove in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 7,050.00 (€ 10,904.75).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Lovers von Mark Boyle im Oktober 2007 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.692,62) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mark Boyle auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sandstone Study with Bricks and working Glove im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.050,00 (€ 10.904,75).
