Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work La via dei sellai a Damasco by Mario Moretti Foggia was auctioned at Il Ponte in April 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 3,500.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 3,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mario Moretti Foggia - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Alle tombe dei califfi, which sold at auction in November 2019 for GBP 7,562.00 (€ 8,879.64).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit La via dei sellai a Damasco von Mario Moretti Foggia im April 2015 bei Il Ponte versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 3.500,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 3.200,00 den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Mario Moretti Foggia mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Alle tombe dei califfi beobachtet, die im November 2019 für GBP 7.562,00 (€ 8.879,64) versteigert wurde.
