Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Mozambican purification Of The Soul (I), Children Of Jesus (Ii), My Toy (Iii), Peace (Iv), The Zionist Series, 2010 by Mário Macilau for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,228.84). This price was achieved in the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Mário Macilau have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cercle De Mémoires in June 2021 with an auction result of EUR 19,500.00.

Im Oktober 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Mozambican purification Of The Soul (I), Children Of Jesus (Ii), My Toy (Iii), Peace (Iv), The Zionist Series, 2010 von Mário Macilau für GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.228,84) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mário Macilau auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Cercle De Mémoires im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 19.500,00.
