In December last year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction 21st Century Art Day Sale, which included the work Her Navel in the Middle by Marina Cruz. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 403,200.00 (€ 48,317.67), 61% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Marina Cruz; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Blushed and Blemished sold at auction in May last year with the realized price of HKD 630,000.00 (€ 74,794.52).

Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion 21st Century Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Her Navel in the Middle von Marina Cruz zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 403.200,00 (€ 48.317,67) und damit 61% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Marina Cruz; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Blushed and Blemished im Mai letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 630.000,00 (€ 74.794,52).
