This artwork by Maria Taniguchi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2021. In the 20th and 21st Century Art Afternoon Session auction, the work Masks I sold for HKD 437,500.00 (€ 46,247.13) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 250,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Maria Taniguchi; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot without title sold at auction in October 2020 with the realized price of HKD 441,000.00 (€ 48,844.34).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Maria Taniguchi erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th and 21st Century Art Afternoon Session wurde die Arbeit Masks I für HKD 437.500,00 (€ 46.247,13) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 250.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Maria Taniguchi; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Oktober 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 441.000,00 (€ 48.844,34).
