Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Copulating Shells by María Fernanda Cardoso. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,032.00 (€ 3,433.53) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by María Fernanda Cardoso have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Estrellas De Mar in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 26,942.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Copulating Shells von María Fernanda Cardoso zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.032,00 (€ 3.433,53) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von María Fernanda Cardoso auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Estrellas De Mar im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 26.942,07).
