Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Melody Makers by Mari Sunna was auctioned at Phillips in London in April 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,484.40). Admittedly, works by Mari Sunna have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Spying Woman in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,690.23).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Melody Makers von Mari Sunna im April 2017 bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.484,40) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mari Sunna auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Spying Woman im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.690,23).
