Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2020 Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Peaches, c.1989 by Margaret Olley. The price achieved of AUD 43,050.00 (€ 36,031.13) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 35,000.00 – 55,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Margaret Olley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hawkesbury Wildflowers and Pears I, 1973, which sold at auction in November 2021 for AUD 159,900.00 (€ 141,667.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2020 führte Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Peaches, c.1989 von Margaret Olley zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 43.050,00 (€ 36.031,13) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 35.000,00 – 55.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Margaret Olley mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hawkesbury Wildflowers and Pears I, 1973 beobachtet, die im November 2021 für AUD 159.900,00 (€ 141.667,40) versteigert wurde.
