Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 Bonhams in Sydney held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Kuan Yin and Flannel Flowers, 1975-76 by Margaret Olley. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 35,000.00 – 55,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 39,360.00 (€ 34,871.98) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Margaret Olley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hawkesbury Wildflowers and Pears I, 1973 in November 2021 with an auction result of AUD 159,900.00 (€ 141,667.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2021 führte Bonhams in Sydney die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Kuan Yin and Flannel Flowers, 1975-76 von Margaret Olley zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 35.000,00 – 55.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 39.360,00 (€ 34.871,98) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Margaret Olley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hawkesbury Wildflowers and Pears I, 1973 im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 159.900,00 (€ 141.667,40).
