In September 2015 Christies in London held the auction Australian Art, which included the work Still Life With Pears by Margaret Olley. The result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 13,542.38) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Margaret Olley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hawkesbury Wildflowers and Pears I, 1973 in November 2021 with an auction result of AUD 159,900.00 (€ 141,667.40).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im September 2015 führte Christies in London die Auktion Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life With Pears von Margaret Olley zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 13.542,38) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Margaret Olley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hawkesbury Wildflowers and Pears I, 1973 im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 159.900,00 (€ 141.667,40).
