Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2012 a collector was able to acquire the work 'Churl-Jin Reunited With His Mother In Rice Field' by Margaret Bourke-White for USD 3,438.00 (€ 2,598.84). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Margaret Bourke-White achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flood Refugees, Louisville, Kentucky in April 2019 with an auction result of USD 400,000.00 (€ 357,110.97).
