Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Margaret Bourke-White could be acquired at Bonhams in New York in December this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Gift of Photographs auction, the work Lucky Stop Garage changed hands for USD 1,024.00 (€ 925.69) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Margaret Bourke-White achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flood Refugees, Louisville, Kentucky in April 2019 with an auction result of USD 400,000.00 (€ 357,110.97).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Margaret Bourke-White konnte im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Gift of Photographs wechselte die Arbeit Lucky Stop Garage für USD 1.024,00 (€ 925,69) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Margaret Bourke-White erzielen.
