Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2010 Phillips in London held the auction Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Reader's Wife I by Marcus Harvey. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,412.70) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Marcus Harvey have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July 2010 the work Golden Showers was auctioned for GBP 21,250.00 (€ 25,550.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2010 führte Phillips in London die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Reader's Wife I von Marcus Harvey zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.412,70) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Marcus Harvey konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Juli 2010 die Arbeit Golden Showers für GBP 21.250,00 (€ 25.550,73) versteigert.
