Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Tinkywinky by Marcus Harvey was auctioned at Phillips in London in July 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,780.00 (€ 4,432.83). Admittedly, works by Marcus Harvey have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Golden Showers in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 25,550.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Tinkywinky von Marcus Harvey im Juli 2021 bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 3.780,00 (€ 4.432,83) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marcus Harvey auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Golden Showers im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 21.250,00 (€ 25.550,73).
