Artwork auctioned at six times the upper estimate price
When the work Twenty Four Landscape Views by Marco Ricci was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2018, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - GBP 20,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than six times as high at GBP 125,000.00 (€ 140,152.49). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marco Ricci - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Opera Rehearsal, which sold at auction in July 2021 for GBP 475,000.00 (€ 557,035.99).
Kunstwerk zum Sechsfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Twenty Four Landscape Views von Marco Ricci im Juli 2018 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – GBP 20.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit GBP 125.000,00 (€ 140.152,49) mehr als sechsmal so hoch. Für andere Arbeiten von Marco Ricci mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit An Opera Rehearsal beobachtet, die im Juli 2021 für GBP 475.000,00 (€ 557.035,99) versteigert wurde.
