Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Old Masters, which included the work Capriccio Of A Classical Arcade With Saint Paul'S Cathedral by Marco Ricci. The price achieved of USD 237,500.00 (€ 213,023.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marco Ricci - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Opera Rehearsal, which sold at auction in July 2021 for GBP 475,000.00 (€ 557,035.99).
