Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Marcellus Laroon II achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2015. In the Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours auction, the work The Music Party sold for GBP 12,500.00 (€ 17,720.80) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marcellus Laroon II - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A bird snarer, which sold at auction in July 2011 for GBP 34,850.00 (€ 39,995.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Marcellus Laroon II erzielte im Juli 2015 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours wurde die Arbeit The Music Party für GBP 12.500,00 (€ 17.720,80) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Marcellus Laroon II mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A bird snarer beobachtet, die im Juli 2011 für GBP 34.850,00 (€ 39.995,59) versteigert wurde.
