In July 2012 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & Early British Drawings and Watercolours, which included the work Old age and comfort by Marcellus Laroon II. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,750.00 (€ 6,050.22), 58% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Marcellus Laroon II have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A bird snarer in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 34,850.00 (€ 39,995.59).

Im Juli 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & Early British Drawings and Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Old age and comfort von Marcellus Laroon II zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 6.050,22) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marcellus Laroon II auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A bird snarer im Juli 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 34.850,00 (€ 39.995,59).
