Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tiberias by Marcel Janco was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in December 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 21,250.00 (€ 20,138.36) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Marcel Janco have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Romanian inferno in November 2017 with an auction result of GBP 81,250.00 (€ 92,230.84).
