A top price for Marcel Janco - as previously expected
In November 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction 20th Century Art – A Different Perspective, which included the work Romanian inferno by Marcel Janco. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 81,250.00 (€ 92,230.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Romanian inferno is the most expensive artwork by Marcel Janco that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im November 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 20th Century Art – A Different Perspective durch, in der auch die Arbeit Romanian inferno von Marcel Janco zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 81.250,00 (€ 92.230,84) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Romanian inferno das teuerste Kunstwerk von Marcel Janco, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
