Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction Israeli & International Art, which included the work Still Life With Fruit by Marcel Janco. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 18,750.00 (€ 14,453.09) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Marcel Janco have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Romanian inferno in November 2017 with an auction result of GBP 81,250.00 (€ 92,230.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Israeli & International Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life With Fruit von Marcel Janco zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 18.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 14.453,09) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marcel Janco auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Romanian inferno im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 81.250,00 (€ 92.230,84).
