Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Porteur Arabe by Marcel Janco was sold in the Israeli & International Art auction at Sothebys in New York in December 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,625.00 (€ 8,780.27) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marcel Janco achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Romanian inferno in November 2017 with an auction result of GBP 81,250.00 (€ 92,230.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Porteur Arabe von Marcel Janco wurde im Dezember 2014 in der Auktion Israeli & International Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 8.780,27) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marcel Janco erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Romanian inferno im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 81.250,00 (€ 92.230,84).
