the complete set of 25 etchings with aquatint in color, hors-texte, title, text in French and justification, on Rives watermark ME, signed in ink by the artist and author on the justification, copy 30 of 205 (the first 25 were on Japon, there were also 20 hors commerce copies in Roman numerals), with full margins, loose (as issued), in very good condition, within paper wrapper with title and beige cloth-covered box with title stamped in gilt on spine. 18 7/8 x 14½ in. (480 x 368 mm.) album

Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Marc Chagall could be acquired at Christies in New York in April 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Prints And Multiples auction, the work Louis Aragon, Celui Qui Dit Les Choses Sans Rien Dire, Maeght Editeur, Paris, 1976 (C. Books 99) changed hands for USD 47,800.00 (€ 30,704.01) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marc Chagall achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Amoureux in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 28,453,000.00 (€ 23,914,103.21).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Marc Chagall konnte im April 2008 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Prints And Multiples wechselte die Arbeit Louis Aragon, Celui Qui Dit Les Choses Sans Rien Dire, Maeght Editeur, Paris, 1976 (C. Books 99) für USD 47.800,00 (€ 30.704,01) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marc Chagall erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les Amoureux im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.453.000,00 (€ 23.914.103,21).
