Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Dream of Mountain Guishan No. 5 by Mao Xuhui was sold in the Contemporary Art | Hong Kong auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in November 2021. The price achieved of HKD 239,400.00 (€ 26,618.85) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 150,000.00 – 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mao Xuhui achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work '92 Paternalism in November 2010 with an auction result of HKD 11,860,000.00 (€ 1,171,807.30).

Die Arbeit A Dream of Mountain Guishan No. 5 von Mao Xuhui wurde im November 2021 in der Auktion Contemporary Art | Hong Kong bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 239.400,00 (€ 26.618,85) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 150.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mao Xuhui erzielen.
