This artwork by Mao Xuhui achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2010. In the Asian Contemporary Art & Chinese 20th Century Art (Evening Sale) auction, the work '92 Paternalism sold for HKD 11,860,000.00 (€ 1,171,807.30) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 5,000,000.00. This high result makes '92 Paternalism the most expensive artwork by Mao Xuhui that we have observed at auctions so far.
