In January 2005 Christies in New York held the auction THE HOUSE SALE, which included the work Mer et Montagne by Manolis Calliyannis. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,640.00 (€ 2,023.14), 32% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Manolis Calliyannis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Greek La Lumiere De La Mer (The Light Of The Sea) in April 2008 with an auction result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 12,748.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 32 % übertroffen
Im Januar 2005 führte Christies in New York die Auktion THE HOUSE SALE durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mer et Montagne von Manolis Calliyannis zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.640,00 (€ 2.023,14) und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Manolis Calliyannis auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Greek La Lumiere De La Mer (The Light Of The Sea) im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 12.748,59).
