Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Figures in Orange, Yellow and Pink by Manierre Dawson was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 18,750.00 (€ 14,061.80). Admittedly, works by Manierre Dawson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Trees on Red Rocks in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 87,500.00 (€ 77,276.34).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Figures in Orange, Yellow and Pink von Manierre Dawson im März 2012 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 18.750,00 (€ 14.061,80) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Manierre Dawson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Trees on Red Rocks im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 77.276,34).
