Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Peonies by Mané-Katz was sold in the Impressionist and Modern Art Day Sale auction at Christies in New York in May 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 27,500.00 (€ 24,665.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Mané-Katz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Wedding in June 2013 with an auction result of GBP 145,875.00 (€ 170,262.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Peonies von Mané-Katz wurde im Mai 2019 in der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art Day Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 24.665,89) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mané-Katz auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Wedding im Juni 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 145.875,00 (€ 170.262,25).
