The work Une Femme Endormie by Mahmoud Saïd was sold in the Middle Eastern Art Online Sale auction at Bonhams in London in February last year. It achieved a price of GBP 10,200.00 (€ 12,194.74), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 46%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mahmoud Saïd achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Whirling Dervishes in October 2010 with an auction result of USD 2,546,500.00 (€ 1,832,805.53).

Die Arbeit Une Femme Endormie von Mahmoud Saïd wurde im Februar letzten Jahres in der Auktion Middle Eastern Art Online Sale bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 10.200,00 (€ 12.194,74) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 46%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mahmoud Saïd erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Whirling Dervishes im Oktober 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.546.500,00 (€ 1.832.805,53).
