Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Mahmoud Saïd achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in November 2020. In the Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art auction, the work Le Chômeur (The Vagabond) sold for GBP 1,222,750.00 (€ 1,365,001.63) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 500,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Mahmoud Saïd; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Whirling Dervishes sold at auction in October 2010 with the realized price of USD 2,546,500.00 (€ 1,832,805.53).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mahmoud Saïd erzielte im November 2020 bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art wurde die Arbeit Le Chômeur (The Vagabond) für GBP 1.222.750,00 (€ 1.365.001,63) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 500.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Mahmoud Saïd; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Whirling Dervishes im Oktober 2010 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 2.546.500,00 (€ 1.832.805,53).
