Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2008 Christies in Dubai held the auction International Modern and Contemporary Art, which included the work Saraftu Shababi Atlubu Al Ilma by Mahmoud Hammad. The price achieved of USD 43,000.00 (€ 27,620.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 35,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mahmoud Hammad - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lika'a Bnafasaji Asrak bi Khamsat Awkat (Rythme bleu - mauve en 5 temps), which sold at auction in October 2014 for USD 118,750.00 (€ 94,772.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2008 führte Christies in Dubai die Auktion International Modern and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Saraftu Shababi Atlubu Al Ilma von Mahmoud Hammad zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 43.000,00 (€ 27.620,76) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 35.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Mahmoud Hammad mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lika'a Bnafasaji Asrak bi Khamsat Awkat (Rythme bleu - mauve en 5 temps) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2014 für USD 118.750,00 (€ 94.772,55) versteigert wurde.
