Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Mahmoud Hammad achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in November this year. In the Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art auction, the work Hommage to Resistance (The Fid'ai) sold for GBP 44,800.00 (€ 51,913.46) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Mahmoud Hammad; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Lika'a Bnafasaji Asrak bi Khamsat Awkat (Rythme bleu - mauve en 5 temps) sold at auction in October 2014 with the realized price of USD 118,750.00 (€ 94,772.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mahmoud Hammad erzielte im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art wurde die Arbeit Hommage to Resistance (The Fid'ai) für GBP 44.800,00 (€ 51.913,46) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Mahmoud Hammad; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Lika'a Bnafasaji Asrak bi Khamsat Awkat (Rythme bleu - mauve en 5 temps) im Oktober 2014 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 118.750,00 (€ 94.772,55).
