Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2011 Christies in Dubai held the auction Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish Art, which included the work Abjad Hawaz by Mahmoud Hammad. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 11,250.00 (€ 7,590.58) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mahmoud Hammad achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lika'a Bnafasaji Asrak bi Khamsat Awkat (Rythme bleu - mauve en 5 temps) in October 2014 with an auction result of USD 118,750.00 (€ 94,772.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2011 führte Christies in Dubai die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Abjad Hawaz von Mahmoud Hammad zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 11.250,00 (€ 7.590,58) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mahmoud Hammad erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lika'a Bnafasaji Asrak bi Khamsat Awkat (Rythme bleu - mauve en 5 temps) im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 118.750,00 (€ 94.772,55).
