Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Magdalena Abakanowicz achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Zurich in December 2021. In the The Swiss Fine Art Sale auction, the work Standing figure IV sold for CHF 107,100.00 (€ 103,456.82) - well above the upper estimate of CHF 40,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Magdalena Abakanowicz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Flock (12 Standing Figures, from 'Ragazzi' Cycle), which sold at auction in November 2017 for USD 480,500.00 (€ 403,849.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Magdalena Abakanowicz erzielte im Dezember 2021 bei Sothebys in Zürich einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Swiss Fine Art Sale wurde die Arbeit Standing figure IV für CHF 107.100,00 (€ 103.456,82) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von CHF 40.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Magdalena Abakanowicz mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Flock (12 Standing Figures, from 'Ragazzi' Cycle) beobachtet, die im November 2017 für USD 480.500,00 (€ 403.849,39) versteigert wurde.
