Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Lofty Mountains In Snow by Ma Tai was worth HKD 625,000.00 (€ 59,309.25) to a buyer in October 2013. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Paintings at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 200,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ma Tai; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Deer sold at auction in April 2012 with the realized price of HKD 740,000.00 (€ 72,103.71).

Die Arbeit Lofty Mountains In Snow von Ma Tai war einem Käufer im Oktober 2013 HKD 625.000,00 (€ 59.309,25) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 200.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Ma Tai; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Deer im April 2012 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 740.000,00 (€ 72.103,71).
