This artwork by Ma Quan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in June 2015. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Pine, Bamboo and Plum Blossoms sold for HKD 375,000.00 (€ 43,370.09) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 200,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ma Quan; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Flower, Bird and Insect sold at auction in November 2016 with the realized price of HKD 475,000.00 (€ 57,881.92).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ma Quan erzielte im Juni 2015 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Pine, Bamboo and Plum Blossoms für HKD 375.000,00 (€ 43.370,09) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 200.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Ma Quan; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Flower, Bird and Insect im November 2016 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 475.000,00 (€ 57.881,92).
