The work Flowers and Rock by Ma Quan was sold in the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2021. The auction ended at the price of HKD 100,000.00 (€ 11,118.99), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 80,000.00 – 100,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ma Quan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Flower, Bird and Insect in November 2016 with an auction result of HKD 475,000.00 (€ 57,881.92).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Flowers and Rock von Ma Quan wurde im November 2021 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 100.000,00 (€ 11.118,99) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 100.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ma Quan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Flower, Bird and Insect im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 475.000,00 (€ 57.881,92).
