Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Fishermen pulling in their nets on the Neapolitan coast by M. Gianni was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2003, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 129.25 (€ 185.54). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by M. Gianni achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A fishing village before I Faraglioni, Capri; and A girl on a coastal track, the Amalfi coast in September 2006 with an auction result of GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,124.30).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Fishermen pulling in their nets on the Neapolitan coast von M. Gianni im November 2003 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 200,00 – 300,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 129,25 (€ 185,54) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von M. Gianni erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A fishing village before I Faraglioni, Capri; and A girl on a coastal track, the Amalfi coast im September 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.440,00 (€ 2.124,30).
