Auction result well in line with expectations

The work The bay of Naples at night, with Vesuvius erupting beyond (illustrated); Bay of Naples; and Fisherfolk on the shore, Sorrento by M. Gianni was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2011. The price achieved of GBP 687.50 (€ 786.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by M. Gianni - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A fishing village before I Faraglioni, Capri; and A girl on a coastal track, the Amalfi coast, which sold at auction in September 2006 for GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,124.30).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit The bay of Naples at night, with Vesuvius erupting beyond (illustrated); Bay of Naples; and Fisherfolk on the shore, Sorrento von M. Gianni kam im Mai 2011 bei Christies in London zur Auktion.
