This artwork by Lynn Davis achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in April last year. In the Photographs auction, the work Iceberg I, Disko Bay, Greenland sold for USD 27,720.00 (€ 26,307.30) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Lynn Davis; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Iceberg #30, Disko Bay, Greenland, 2000 sold at auction in October 2019 with the realized price of USD 36,250.00 (€ 32,496.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 85 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lynn Davis erzielte im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs wurde die Arbeit Iceberg I, Disko Bay, Greenland für USD 27.720,00 (€ 26.307,30) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Lynn Davis; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Iceberg #30, Disko Bay, Greenland, 2000 im Oktober 2019 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 36.250,00 (€ 32.496,64).
