Auction result well in line with expectations
In October last year Christies in London held the auction A Place With No Name: Works from the Sina Jina Collection, which included the work Magic by Lynette Yiadom-Boakye. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 150,000.00 – 200,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 151,200.00 (€ 176,146.33) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Lynette Yiadom-Boakye have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Highpower in October last year with an auction result of GBP 1,482,000.00 (€ 1,726,513.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion A Place With No Name: Works from the Sina Jina Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Magic von Lynette Yiadom-Boakye zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 150.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 151.200,00 (€ 176.146,33) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lynette Yiadom-Boakye auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Highpower im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.482.000,00 (€ 1.726.513,59).
