Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Livro dos Caminhos (Book of Paths) by Lygia Pape was auctioned at Phillips in New York in November 2011. The price achieved of USD 212,500.00 (€ 157,957.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lygia Pape - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Livro noite e dia (Book of Night and Day), which sold at auction in May 2017 for USD 430,000.00 (€ 382,698.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Livro dos Caminhos (Book of Paths) von Lygia Pape kam im November 2011 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 212.500,00 (€ 157.957,33) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Lygia Pape mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Livro noite e dia (Book of Night and Day) beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für USD 430.000,00 (€ 382.698,47) versteigert wurde.
