Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2004 Christies in Madrid held the auction ARTE ESPANOL, which included the work Bodegón Con Manzanas, Uvas, Peras, Pan, Jarra y Vaso de Cristal by Luis Meléndez. The price achieved of EUR 232,250.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Luis Meléndez achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Oranges, nuts, spices, boxes of sweetmeats, a jug and a cask on a table in February 2012 with an auction result of GBP 3,513,250.00 (€ 4,194,913.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2004 führte Christies in Madrid die Auktion ARTE ESPANOL durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bodegón Con Manzanas, Uvas, Peras, Pan, Jarra y Vaso de Cristal von Luis Meléndez zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 232.250,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Luis Meléndez erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Oranges, nuts, spices, boxes of sweetmeats, a jug and a cask on a table im Februar 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.513.250,00 (€ 4.194.913,60).
