Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Luis Martínez-Pedro could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art auction, the work No. 29 (from the series Otros signos del mar) changed hands for USD 12,600.00 (€ 10,729.80) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Luis Martínez-Pedro - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Composition No. 16, which sold at auction in November 2016 for USD 43,750.00 (€ 41,359.43).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Luis Martínez-Pedro konnte im März 2021 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art wechselte die Arbeit No. 29 (from the series Otros signos del mar) für USD 12.600,00 (€ 10.729,80) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Luis Martínez-Pedro mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Composition No. 16 beobachtet, die im November 2016 für USD 43.750,00 (€ 41.359,43) versteigert wurde.
