In December 2016 Christies in New York held the auction Living with Art, which included the work Mirto Mortadella Morte by Luigi Ontani. The »bidding war« ended at USD 23,750.00 (€ 22,507.58), 32% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Luigi Ontani have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ibridoli in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 84,000.00 (€ 120,629.53).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 32 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Living with Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mirto Mortadella Morte von Luigi Ontani zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 23.750,00 (€ 22.507,58) und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Luigi Ontani auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ibridoli im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 84.000,00 (€ 120.629,53).
