Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work 7th Heaven 4 (LS-0154) by Lucien Smith. The price achieved of USD 11,970.00 (€ 10,193.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lucien Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hobbes, The Rain Man, and My Friend Barney / Under the Sycamore Tree in November 2013 with an auction result of USD 389,000.00 (€ 285,903.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit 7th Heaven 4 (LS-0154) von Lucien Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 11.970,00 (€ 10.193,31) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lucien Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hobbes, The Rain Man, and My Friend Barney / Under the Sycamore Tree im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 389.000,00 (€ 285.903,28).
