Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Phillips in New York held the auction New Now, which included the work 7th Heaven 2 by Lucien Smith. It changed hands for a price of USD 13,860.00 (€ 11,802.78) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lucien Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hobbes, The Rain Man, and My Friend Barney / Under the Sycamore Tree in November 2013 with an auction result of USD 389,000.00 (€ 285,903.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2021 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit 7th Heaven 2 von Lucien Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 13.860,00 (€ 11.802,78) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lucien Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hobbes, The Rain Man, and My Friend Barney / Under the Sycamore Tree im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 389.000,00 (€ 285.903,28).
