Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work 'Thou Art That by Lucas Price was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,689.62). Admittedly, works by Lucas Price have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Deflation Painting #7, 2018 in June 2019 with an auction result of GBP 11,312.00 (€ 12,716.37).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit 'Thou Art That von Lucas Price im Juni 2015 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.689,62) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lucas Price auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Deflation Painting #7, 2018 im Juni 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.312,00 (€ 12.716,37).
