Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Luca Giordano achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2019. In the Old Master Paintings and Sculpture auction, the work Saint Anthony of Padua and the unbeliever's mule adoring the sacrament sold for GBP 106,250.00 (€ 125,575.06) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Luca Giordano have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Martyrdom of Saint Bartholomew in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 962,500.00 (€ 1,214,015.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Luca Giordano erzielte im Dezember 2019 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture wurde die Arbeit Saint Anthony of Padua and the unbeliever's mule adoring the sacrament für GBP 106.250,00 (€ 125.575,06) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Luca Giordano auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Martyrdom of Saint Bartholomew im Juli 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 962.500,00 (€ 1.214.015,12).
